Our expertise

FROG technology was developed in 2016 and is directly inspired by the methods used by speech therapists. Based on the observation that there is a limited range of products available to people with dyslexia, MOBiDYS wanted to create an interactive digital book where readers can choose the tool that suits them best.

This innovative project was carried out in collaboration with researchers Pascale Colé in cognitive science, Frédérique Kupra in design, and Béatrice Daille and Solenn Quiniou in language science. The use of digital technology makes it possible to design personalized solutions that meet the specific needs of each reader profile.

Decoding support tools

Some fonts are more or less accessible or comfortable for dyslexic readers. Studies recommend sans-serif fonts such as Arial. Some fonts have been specifically designed for dyslexic readers, such as the OpenDyslexic font.

The zoom feature allows text to be enlarged, making it easier to read and less overwhelming.

Focus support tools

The reading window helps readers focus on the unit of meaning they need to decode, without their attention being disrupted by other elements on the page.

Alternating line spacing with different colors helps readers avoid mixing up lines and makes reading easier.

The reading ruler also helps readers stay focused on the line they are reading, without losing their place in the text.

Inverted contrast can also help improve attention.

Comprehension support tools

The “vocabulary” tool helps clarify complex vocabulary by rephrasing it, always within the context of the story. This tool also helps explain implicit pronouns, which are often a source of confusion.

The primary support for children with reading difficulties is, of course, audio assistance. This tool allows them to “read with their ears” in order to access the content of the work. All our books are narrated by human voices.

Breaking the text into sense units (rheses) helps readers identify linguistic segments.
